Three lifts have to share one plan
Powerlifting tests three lifts, but good preparation has to balance all three across the same athlete, schedule and recovery capacity. More work is only useful while it continues to produce adaptation.
An online coach can help decide exercise selection, weekly structure, loading and when to push or hold back. Technique clips add context that numbers alone cannot show.
- Squat, bench and deadlift programming
- Assistance work selected for a purpose
- Load and fatigue management
- Technique review and cue selection

From first block to meet week
If you plan to compete, the programme should eventually become specific to the demands of your meet: commands, equipment rules, attempt confidence and the timing of the final heavy work.
A first competition also brings practical questions about membership, weigh-ins, kit and attempt cards. Coaching should reduce uncertainty without pretending every variable can be controlled.
- Competition timeline
- Command practice
- Attempt-selection discussion
- Warm-up and meet-day planning
Match on communication as well as knowledge
A technically brilliant plan can still fail if the athlete and coach cannot communicate. Ask how check-ins work, what level of detail is expected and how quickly important questions are normally answered.
The Get Strong NI form collects format, experience and goal information first so the opening conversation can start with fit rather than a generic sales message.
